Learning to Sit With What I Can't Control
Not everything can be fixed, some things must be faced. This is what illness taught me about surrender and strength.

There's a different kind of fear that comes with illness.
It's not loud. It doesn't always show up in panic. Sometimes, it's quiet. It sits in the background of your day, reminding you that not everything is in your control.
That was the hardest part for me.
I've always been someone who tries to fix things. Find solutions. Stay strong. Keep moving. But there came a point where no amount of planning or positivity could change what I was facing.
And I had to learn something I never wanted to learn.
To sit still. To sit with uncertainty. To sit with discomfort. To sit with questions that didn't have answers.
At first, it felt unbearable.
But slowly, I realized something… Surrender is not weakness. It's trust.
Trust that even when you don't understand what's happening, you are still being carried through it. That even in the unknown, there is purpose.
I stopped asking, "Why is this happening to me?" And started asking, "What is this teaching me?"
And that shift changed everything.
I'm still learning. Still growing. Still navigating. But I'm no longer fighting every moment.
Sometimes strength isn't in control. Sometimes it's in letting go.
